Since they opened Vida Comida this autumn I have been saying I would like to go there for tapas. We finally made it there this week. You may remember our previous tapas evening so you know tapas are high on our list of favourite foods. As you enter Vida Comida there are long tables with benches and around the bar there are cosy sofas and seats. The setting in a formed pub is very welcoming and invites you to have a cosy night to enjoy tapas.

We started with Tabla de Quesos while we were browsing the tapas menu as we were hungry but I could not decide which tapas I would like. Table de Quesos was selection of lovely cheeses, fruits and nuts with bread sticks – perfect for sharing.

All the tapas on the menu sounded delicious and it was hard to decide which ones to have that night. We settled for a selection of four tapas: Chorizo a la Sidra, Pollo Vida Comida, Pimientos Rellenos and Patas Bravas.

chicken and peppers

The chorizo dish was my favourite, they were perfectly cooked in cider and the flavours were amazing. The bravas salsa was rather hot, however my husband did enjoy it and it was stated on the menu that it would be hot hot hot! The peppers were tasty and had right amount of blue cheese to give them great flavour. Our least favourite dish turned out to be the chicken fillets (Pollo Vida Comida),  they were cooked with a coating but were quite plain. The hot bravas salsa provided a good dip to use with the chicken. Four tapas were plenty to share between two of us after having had Table de Quesos to start with. We could not fit any desserts in, although I did contemplate ordering Churros.

Vida Comida certainly delivered tapas that we were expecting. Our evening was lovely and very relaxed. Staff were attentive and friendly and were able to recommend drinks and tapas. Everything is very reasonably priced. We are very pleased to have a tapas restaurant in North Dorset and we are hoping to be back very soon!
