It had been a while since I had popped in to what I would describe as old style British pub (as opposed to gastro pubs). As we wondered up Cheap Street in Sherborne I knew of White Hart but had actually never popped in before. We had a quick look at the menu outside and decided to try it out for a midweek lunch.
The menu was simple and offered the usual British pub choices and they also had specials board. My husband chose scampi from the board and I had a burger. The children weren’t with us this time so I did not check whether they had children’s menu or if they would offer smaller portions from the menu.
The food is what you get anywhere in these types of pubs, however the service was excellent and friendly. I think that goes a long way to show that you want customers to return, and we would be more than happy to pop in again for a lunch in the week.
