Now that the Christmas crazy is well and truly over and we are in the grip of some chilly English winter weather, I was delighted to discover the sunshine inspired Lost Paradise restaurant in central Bournemouth. With a tempting pan-asian tapas menu and a large array of tropical cocktails it was perfect for an escape from the cold!
As the name suggests, the restaurant is designed to evoke feelings of Bali and the decor, food and drinks have been designed accordingly. On every table is their expansive cocktail menu which entices you to choose one of the many on offer with full descriptions (and a handy picture). The Lost Paradise also run regular cocktail masterclasses which at just £22.90 are a riot of fun and a window into their impressive cocktail knowledge-base.
The food menu contains a range of pan-asian tapas dishes including a number of Thai inspired curries varying in levels of heat and including options for vegetarians and those who are gluten intolerant. There are also a number of other options including satay, spring rolls, phad thai, ribs and prawn tapas dishes.
Any good meal needs a good dessert to finish off the evening nicely and we sampled the Signature Trio which allowed us to enjoy 3 tasters of their puddings and was as lovely as it sounded.
The Lost Paradise is open Tuesday – Friday from 5:30pm, from 12pm on Saturdays, from 10pm on Mondays (closed most Sundays). On Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays The Lost Paradise also becomes a night club as the evening turns later and is open until 3am. Each club night is themed and there are different drink offers each night (over 18’s only on some club nights).
The Lost Paradise is available for private hire and there are often special events happening so keeping an eye on their Twitter and Facebook pages is a must to make sure you don’t miss out on all the exciting things that happen – including an upcoming Valentine’s special of 6 courses for just £25. They have even made enjoying their food easier by joining up with Deliveroo to offer their tapas to go!
The Lost Paradise has a lovely, laid-back feel with a good, light-hearted soundtrack and attentive staff. Priced competitively for tapas, with good sized portions and accompanied by an amazing array of cocktails, The Lost Paradise really is a tiny slice of Bali in the centre of Bournemouth and perfect for a fun evening with your friends.
