The Ammonite Restaurant, is set in the Alexandra Hotel, Lyme Regis wonderful new Orangery. It has been sympathetically designed to compliment its surroundings and create a calming space from which guests can dine and enjoy the spectacular sea views. Their Head Chef, Tom Holloway, has created a wonderful new menu for this exciting new addition to our current food offerings.
We were kindly invited to join them to celebrate the opening of the new restaurant. The Orangery has been built on the site of the previous conservatory, that was cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. With the use of modern glass the new Orangery is still light and airy, with the added bonus that the temperature inside will be stable throughout the year. During the build they discovered another well and instead of hiding from view it is now a feature.
The Orangery is separate from the existing restaurant and will have it’s own menu of fresh local ingredients prepared by Head Chef Tom Holloway.
Kathryn Haskins, Director said The Orangery is also serving luxury afternoon tea’s from 15:00 – 17:30, with the option of a glass (or two) of Furleigh Classic Cuvee. The Orangery is also available to hire, as a seated event, finger buffet, meeting room or a spectacular venue for a wedding reception – You will not be disappointed whichever you choose.
