I keep seeing Purbeck Ice Cream talked about on social and drooling over the tasty images of the ice cream, as well seeing them being advertised in kiosks and restaurants across Dorset, so I jumped at the chance to try some of their flavours myself!

Purbeck Ice Cream was started by ice cream fans Peter and Hazel on their dairy farm nestled in the Purbecks. After much research, they set about creating a product which is as locally sourced as possible, adding nothing artificial, is gluten and egg free and full of flavour and fun!

I personally did not know how locally sourced they were until writing this review and I just love their passion for not only their product, but also their local environment and other local suppliers too.

I was sent 9 flavours to try and my family were very keen to help me with this review! We all enjoyed digging into all the flavours and trialling them and even my pickiest eating child loved new flavours he hasn’t tried before (that is not an easy feat!). My kids especially loved the Jurrasic range and its fab to see that money from each tub of these goes to help conserve the beautiful Jurassic coastline. My son especially loved finding the chocolate dinosaur hidden in the vanilla ice cream in his Dig-a-saurus tub!

Every year they research new and innovative flavours, all using local ingredients. This year for example, they have worked with Ma Bolton to add a Gingerbread Ice Cream as well as creating a Cucumber sorbet and a Strawberry sorbet to their already bulging range of flavours.

There are more than 20 flavours to try and from the standard flavours like vanilla and chocolate, to the slightly more unique flavours, like the Dorset Marmalade flavour, they are all consistently creamy, full of flavour and delicious.

You can find Purbeck Ice Cream in scooping kiosks across Dorset, as well as Farm Shops, cafes and restaurants. You can find a clear list of where via their website (prices are dependant on the stockist). You can also find out lots more information about the company as well as their flavours and more information about becoming a stockist.
