The new BH2 complex in Bournemouth’s town centre has added a host of delicious places to eat and with Pizza Express already being a favoured destination for my family, we jumped at the chance to check this new restaurant for ourselves.

In the iconic Pizza Express style, the kitchen is right in the centre of the restaurant and allows the customer the chance (and the drama!) of watching their pizza being made right in front of them (can’t get fresher than that!).

The menu is full of pizzas in either a thin Romana base or a thicker Classic crust with a delicious range of toppings, as well as their Legerra range of pizzas with a lower calorie content and a salad in the centre of the pizza. They also have a wonderful range of pasta dishes, sides and starters.

Eating as a family, my kids enjoyed some stickers, fun sheets, balloons and chef hats, and the waitress happily allowed them to customise their menu choices so that they enjoyed their dinner to the fullest. They also enjoyed some of Pizza Express’s legendary dough balls!

The menu has been refreshed for the summer and I sampled a tasty new mint and cucumber presse and their new lemon bundt pudding. These all accompany the classics we know and love like the ‘Dulcetti’ desserts that are a smaller versions of the puddings, served with a hot drink for when you want something sweet (and you secretly don’t want to have to share) but have no room for a full dessert.

(This was a ‘classic’ American pizza which comes with pepperoni, with some goats cheese added on as an extra – YUM.)

Our waitress and the rest of the staff went out of their way to help us and they were a joy to be around – so happy and friendly!

All in all – we had a fabulous time as a family in this new Pizza Express! To find out more information and for a full look at the menu and opening times, check out their website (link below).
