Tucked away amongst the boats, this gorgeous cafe is a delight and a place to escape and feel like you are on holiday – even if just for a couple of hours.
We visited at lunchtime to celebrate a birthday and we were presented with a lunch menu that was filled with a great selection with everything from smaller bites to larger dishes. The drinks menu included an array of wines, beers, cider and soft drinks and there was an extremely tempting display of home bakes to make sure we left room for pudding!
Between the four of us, we had sandwiches, salads and a pan full of mussels and I also tried one of the chef’s specials – belgian meatballs. Served with a dressed salad and french fries, the meatballs also came with their own tasty, slightly fruity, onion sauce.
After our mains, we indulged in some cakes and coffees and their taste did indeed live up to their tempting appearance!
The cafe itself has many tables outside – perfect for enjoying the boats and the views on a sunny summer’s day (as well as a conservatory and space inside for when the weather is not so kind) and the staff were helpful and friendly.
This cafe is a hidden treasure in Poole – off the beaten track and nestled in beside the glorious coastline. I would recommend booking a table in advance to avoid disappointment (especially on a sunny day) and then sit back and soak up the lively, bustling vibe, full of the sounds of people enjoying themselves.
