What a wonderful surprise to receive samples of Honeybuns wonderful gluten, wheat and dairy free products. Honeybuns is based in Holwell which is in deepest Dorset, but don’t let that make you think it is a small business. You can find their products in Cafes, delis and farm shops all over the country, most Waitrose stores and the John Lewis Cafes: ‘A Place to Eat’. Also, you can find Honeybuns in Dikes in Stalbridge,HealthFoodsUK in Yeovil, Washingpool Farm Shop near Bridport, and their very own Bee Shack Cafe, you can also order all their products online.
My little goodie box included Amondi Cookies gluten and dairy free version of the Italian amaretti; Almond Moon gluten free polenta, cranberry and almond slice; Milk Chocolate Brownie gluten free milk chocolate brownie with coffee; Snowy Hills gluten free ginger and polenta shortbread with a lemon sponge topping.
The first to get the taste treatment was their Amondi Cookie, this was a huge WOW, crunchy on the outside, but with a nice fresh citrus almondy moist centre. This is the perfect match for a cup of steaming fresh coffee, the stronger the better!!
Next for the taste test was Snowy Hills, absolutely delicious, wonderfully moist lemon sponge with a crunchy polenta shortbread base. They recommend them to be warmed, with a dollop of clotted cream – a snack for a very special occasion!!!
Last up where the mini brownie and Almond Moon snack bars. The chocolate brownie was again deliciously moist and again could be warmed & served with cream. The Almond Moon, was an almond slice+ with dried cranberries, this again was so moist and wonderful, wonderful flavours.
You can buy all these products online and they can also be frozen, so you always have a ready supply of these amazing little snacks. I know I will be on the lookout for these next time I have a coffee!!
