On a windy and wet winter evening Harry Ramsden’s in Bournemouth put on quite a feast in order to show off not just their award winning fish and chips, but a whole range of other delicious, seasonal foods too.

With it’s prime beach-fronting location, Harry Ramsden’s is perfect in the summer for that extremely British tradition of Fish and Chips by the seaside, but in the middle of winter and with Christmas fast approaching, they have worked hard to come up with a menu that celebrates all types of fish, as well as making space for the all important classic Christmas dinner.

The restaurant is light and airy inside with high ceilings and dangling chandeliers and with enough space inside for 350 covers, there is certainly space for even the largest Christmas party! We were serenaded by a talented jazz saxophonist but there is plenty of space for a larger band if required. I was also intrigued (and delighted) to find out that they can also offer exclusive hire and can cater for weddings and special events.

Their set menu is £16.99 for 3 courses which is complimented by a full bar menu for drinks (with added winter-themed cocktails at £4.95) and we were impressed by the value for money with generous portions for each course.

It definitely cheered up our dreary winter’s evening and we all left full and happy. If you are looking for somewhere a little different for Christmas this year then I recommend checking out Harry Ramsden’s.
