Festivals and Events
Come and celebrate Easter with us at the First Dorset Food Fair of the Year. Discover over 25 stands showcasing distinctively Dorset’s produce while exploring the stunning Spring colour of the Subtropical Gardens. Alongside the food stalls there will be cooking demonstrations, including a demo from Russell Brown, Nick Holt and a fun crab cracking demo
The Dorset Venison and Food Festival has been evolving since 2011 and now contains lots of tasty local produce, street food sellers, children’s activities and a food demo kitchen.
Moores, creators of the famous Dorset Knob, along with Dorset Tea and Dorset Food & Drink partnership all assist us in supporting the unique Dorset event.
Starting in Christchurch’s High Street, the town is transformed with stalls brimming with local delicacies. Down onto the picturesque riverside setting of Christchurch Quay, the experience continues with free-to-view cookery demonstrations, Beer Festival, fabulous cocktails, Kids Kitchen, excellent entertainment and Dorset Food & Drink trademark marquees, as well as dozens of stalls selling delicious food to eat there or take home and create exciting recipes.
Come and join us on Sunday 12th May 2019 for a celebration of the best in local food and drink. There’ll be stalls the length of the town, featuring the fabulous Anonymous Travelling Market on Park Walk, as well as producers from The Dorset Farmers Market and Dorset Food and Drink in the High Street. Live cooking demonstrations will be taking place outside the Shaftesbury Town Hall at the ‘Chef’s on Stage’ demonstration Kitchen… and of course, the utterly bonkers Cheese Racesup the iconic Gold Hill! Swans Yard will be hosting Live Music as well as showcasing some of the best in local art and crafts and make sure to pop along to the Shaftesbury Abbey Gardens for dancing with our very own Steps in Time.
With over 60 stall holders serving up a mouth-watering array of locally made artisan bread, preserves, tea, coffee, beer, cider, wine, cheese, chocolate, cakes, charcuterie, fish and meat. You can also browse and buy a selection of products from local craftsmen and artists, while live music and family entertainment add to the laid back festival festival.
A celebration of Mudefords’ rich cultural heritage, its local produce and its historic links to the Solent, Christchurch Bay, Harbour and Quay – with live music, plenty of fresh, local food stands and some top local chefs in the demo kitchens.
Join some of the country’s leading chefs, cooks, food pioneers and cookery writers along with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall at the River Cottage Food Fair. The Fair also includes food stands, masterclasses, workshops, displays and lots of activities for the kids too.
The Highcliffe Food & Arts Festival is a fab weekend full of street traders, entertainment, large craft marquee, the Sheep Show, fun activities for children and a Food Demo tent full of top, local chefs and headlined by TV’s Rosemary Shrager.
The amazing Cheese and Chilli Festival is back in Christchurch for 2019! The event in 2019 will bring an amazing array of tastes, colours and experiences to town and is a ‘must go to event’. The Cheese & Chilli Festival provides fun activities for all ages, with FREE cooking demonstrations, Taste Tents, a Beer Festival, Street Theatre, Live Music, Free Crazy Golf, Free Human Sized Table Football, Children’s Entertainments including Magic Shows, Punch & Judy, Balloon Modelling, Treasure Hunts.
