Festivals and Events
Leigh’s annual FOOD FAIR & VINTAGE/CLASSIC CAR DISPLAY returns for it’s 14th year with a wonderful selection of stall holders selling a wide array of excellent local produce.
Dorset Food and Arts Festival 2019 is back again to champion the best of Dorset and this year promises to showcase a bumper crop of produce and culinary talent. The seventh annual Festival, held as always on the Saturday closest to the late Queen Mother’s birthday, follows the successful pattern of previous years. There will be more than 50 local food and drink stalls, including the regular Poundbury Dorset Farmers’ Market stallholders, music by local singers and groups all day and demonstrations by food experts and chefs.
The 9th festival will be held on the first weekend of August 2019 and we’ll have another great weekend for chilli enthusiasts, food lovers and families. Held at the home of the Earl of Shaftesbury at St Giles Park, we’re lining up a glorious weekend of “chilli fiesta”, with stalls selling all things chilli, from pepper plants to cayenne condiments; seeds to ceramics; plus cooking demonstrations; talks on growing chillies; artisan food producers; music; spicy street food; local ice creams to cool the mouth; local beers to slake the thirst. We have some of the most dedicated independent sauce manufacturers and retailers attending and some of the country’s best specialist chilli growers to showcase their plants and seeds to thousands of visitors at will surely be 2019’s hottest event in Dorset.
A fab food festival, taking over the centre of Wimborne Minster and including lots of tasty food producers from across Dorset, as well as lots of different activities, traders and food demos.
80 fantastic stalls, world food caterers, exciting cookery demos, inspirational talks, interactive workshops, yoga and children’s activities running throughout the day.
The festival started as a vision of Mark Hix with the aim of promoting the produce of his hometown of Lyme Regis and the surrounding areas, by presenting some of the best food, producers and suppliers that Dorset and the South West has to offer. The festival brings together top chefs, exhibitors, locals and those who are visiting Lyme Regis. The main stage will showcase a diverse mix of interactive cookery demonstrations, talks and tastings across the weekend.
The Festival has been running in some form for more than 20 years and consists of a multitude of cheese, food and drink producers, Street food vans, demonstrations as well as arts & crafts and entertainment.
