The Dorset Meat Company is delighted to announce the launch of its online shop offering home-delivered, 100% grass fed, ethically reared meat sourced from small, family-run farms based in Dorset and Wiltshire that follow traditional, sustainable farming methods to produce naturally-reared meat.

The Dorset Meat Company sources exclusively from small-scale family farms that follow traditional methods of animal husbandry in a natural and biodiverse growing environment, animals that have been allowed to grow at a natural pace and have not been rushed, resulting in better textured and highly flavoured meat. By working exclusively with small, family-run farms that follow traditional farming methods, The Dorset Meat Company aims to give consumers the confidence in the integrity and origin of the meat they are eating.

Nick Somper, the co-Founder of the Dorset Meat Company, says: “We believe strongly that small-scale farming is better for the farmer, the animal, the local ecology, and for the consumer. We would advocate that we all eat less meat, but when we do, we need to ensure it’s of the highest quality and is produced in a way that respects nature, the environment and the animal. Eating meat from animals that themselves have only eaten a natural diet of grass, and wildflowers rich in vitamins and minerals and untainted by growth promoters and chemicals makes a whole lot of sense. It’s a healthy choice to make.

The Dorset Meat Company’s produce is available nationwide as single cuts or in a range of meat boxes and is hand-prepared by the Blackmore Vale Butchery in West Stour, North Dorset which was awarded ‘Best Butcher‘at the 2017 Taste of Dorset Awards.
