East Dorset plays host to some fine coffee establishments and I thought it was about time that I compiled a list of some of my favourite places to go for a real mighty cup of java. These places care deeply about their coffee – from the roasting of the bean through right through to correctly brewing the coffee itself and if you are looking for that perfectly balanced cup then do check out the following places…

South Coast Roast & BosconovaĀ – Bournemouth

Aside from their range of espresso-basedĀ beverages they offer the ‘dripped coffee’ and their coffeeĀ beans vary constantly meaning you are always in for an interesting treat. You can also purchase all manner of brewing equipment Ā (as well as beans) and South Coast Roast also offer coffee tasting events twice a month. To compliment the coffees South Coast Roast haveĀ range of salads and bagels (made fresh) and Boasconova have an extremely delicious and full menu (including some tremendous breakfasts).

Dancing Goat and the Coffee SaloonsĀ
Ashley Cross, Canford Cliffs, Poole Quay and Wareham

These bijou, urban cafes pack a punch when it comes to the coffee. Complimented by a range of sweet bakes and freshly made sandwiches/salads these coffees are finely crafted and beautiful too!

Little Red RoasterĀ Ashley Cross, Poole

This cafe not only makes a terrific brew, it also roasts the coffee too! Nestled at the back of the shop is indeed the Little Red Roaster that gives this shop its’ name and (at least) weekly they have new beans being carefully roasted to either buy (whole or ground) to make drinks at home, or to drinkĀ in their own coffees.

Espresso KitchenBournemouth

An established part of the Triangle community in central Bournemouth, this cool coffee house lives up to its name. Boasting a fine display of cakes and a well-rounded range of espresso based drinks, this is a great place to pick up a great tasting coffee.
