After a couple of years of excited anticipation, Bournemouth’s first board game cafe is open and I popped along to their launch to check it out.
Nestled into a new development in Christchurch Road in Boscombe, Coffee and Dice has been lovingly put together by its founders Marc Shotter and Jess Hancock. It contains space for 60 gamers and has over 500 games to choose from. To play the games, players need to pay £4 each and then they can stay as long as they like and play as many games as they like. Games include all the old favourites like Scrabble, Monopoly and Chess to more advanced strategy games, and everything in between.
Alongside the games, Marc and Jess have put together a locally sourced menu of handmade sandwiches and paninis, as well as a range of cakes and sweets. Their coffee is sourced from a roaster less than 5 minutes away from the cafe and the beer sourced from a local brewery too. Open from 10am – 11pm, there are food and drink choices for all times of the day.
Coffee and Dice has been lovingly put together and designed to create a beautiful and relaxed space for friends and family to gather together to play and it is a fab independent addition to the cafe scene in Bournemouth.
