On a beautiful but cold Saturday morning we decided to pop over to visit recently opened cafe at Goldhill Organic Farm in Child Okeford. Sharon opened the cafe after successfully running pop up cafes at the farm for various events. She prepares all the cakes and food herself, mainly using ingredients from the farm shop next door – that’s pretty local and we like that! The cafe is located in the centre of the farm life overlooking the courtyard with few tables outside too.

The cafe is very welcoming place and has enough tables to seat larger parties or have small table for two. Children haven’t been forgotten and they have been provided with their own little table with some activities.

The selection of cakes was mouthwatering. We had a brownie which we learned was gluten free, it was delicious and I must say my daughter was not too keen to share any with me! Brownie and a lovely latte was all we needed in the morning but we asked Sharon about lunches and they sound tasty too. She does few choices for each day depending what is available in the farm shop next door. She is also launching a supper club at the cafe so keep an eye out for her events!

If you are not local to Child Okeford the cafe is still worth a trip. I know we will be back for those cakes again and hopefully find time to stop for lunch too! The small cafe is warm and welcoming, there are few items on the shelves for sale and a cosy sofa to sink into with a good book. The cafe is currently open 10 to 4 Thursday to Saturday.
