Several friends had told me about Bonjour – a French style café in Poundbury So I decided to try it out myself.

The café is very small and intimate with maybe half a dozen tables. I went along with my sister-in-law and we were made very welcome by the 2 ladies working there.

We both ordered elderflower presse at £2.50 a bottle then looked on the blackboard to select our lunch. It was not a vast menu-which I like as I find it hard to decide which tasty food to order!!?? I went for a goats cheese and spiced pineapple relish baguette at £3.50 and Deb had goats cheese on toast salad £3.75.

We sat down and started chatting and within minutes our food arrived. Mine seemed huge and wondered if I could eat it all but it was delicious especially the pineapple relish. Deb enjoyed her goats cheese salad the only criticism she could make is that from a personal point of view would have preferred a more interesting mix of salad instead of just green leaves!!

My choice seemed much better value than Debs but all in all it was very yummy and we enjoyed the relaxation and chatting.

There were delicious looking home made cakes/patries for around £2 to £2.50 but alas we were too full to eat anything else. We did decide however to go back very soon for afternoon tea to sample the sweets!…cant wait!!

Please make a visit to this charming little French café I would definitely recommend it…good value for money and good service!!
