The Dorset Foodie Family was started in 2011 by John and Vicky Grindle and aims to showcase & promote the flourishing food & drink scene throughout Dorset – from Christchurch to Bridport, Weymouth to Shaftesbury.

Dorset has a wealth of brilliant food producers, distillers, brewers, hotels, restaurants and foragers and as a team of food writers, we try to highlight the best of the best. We are constantly on the lookout for the new or the undiscovered and we can often be found sipping a coffee (or a cocktail!) in one of the many fine establishments found within Dorset’s boundaries. We do sometimes get invited to places or treated to a trial of a new menu or product but we clearly state when this is the case and we always give you our honest and clear opinions.

We post some of our favourite recipes to show you how you can use some of the great produce and we are all obviously a little bit in love with food so all recipes will have been tried and tested – some many, many times!

We will also try and keep up to date with all the exciting food and drink events that happen across Dorset, from large food festivals and regular farmer’s markets to small product launches. You can check these out on our events page.
