I have reached an age where I don’t really go ‘out out’ anymore but my husband and I regularly look out for comedians who are coming to town, so we can at least go ‘out’.

On 7th December, we enjoyed Jason Manford’s ‘Muddle Class’ at The BIC. We didn’t have time to eat dinner before-hand as I was setting up an event for work. After getting home, I ran in the house, brushed my hair, sprayed some perfume and ran out again, with the husband in tow. We got to our seats with minutes to spare.

It was a great show with lots of belly laughs, although my belly was grumbling from not eating since breakfast. We didn’t leave the show until after 10pm and although we wouldn’t usually eat dinner so late, when we walked past 7Bone Burger, we couldn’t resist going in. We have wanted to try it since it opened but it’s always been so busy when we’ve been in town.

We both opted for the ‘shuffle to straight time’, with seasoned fries, which is an aged beef patty, Kansas style fried onions, cheese and American mustard. The food arrived in a diner-style basket and to say the fries were in a pile the size of a mountain, is only a slight exaggeration. The burger was a thick, juicy patty in a warm golden bun.

I will definitely be going back to try other items on the menu, such as their Christmas special; ‘Cheese n Crackers’ – a 6oz ages beef patty, cracker coated cheeseboard bonbon, deep fried sprout straws, sweet caramelised onion chutney, drenched in delicious blue cheese sauce. One to get in before the January health kick, which is fine – it’s only available for a limited time!
