My husband and I concocted had reason to have a ‘working lunch’ recently and I definitely had a hankering after a really great burger so where better to go, than a restaurant where the owners have a passion for burgers!

7Bone Bournemouth

7Bone was started in Southampton by two guys who have a passion for American comfort food. They opened their second restaurant in Bournemouth in 2015 and they cherry-picked the best of ‘American’ to create a laidback place that really allows the food to shine – this place really isn’t your typical American theme restaurant.

The kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant so the smell is amazing right from the start and the menu is full of different variations of burgers (beef, pork, chicken and vegetarian) and a whole host of delicious sides. Each burger is served in a lightly toasted brioche bun with onions, cheese and mustard, all of which are very happy accompaniments to the beautifully aged meat.

I chose the simplest beef burger and my husband added bacon to his. We both choose fries (mine had extra chilli and my husband had the 7Bone signature ‘dirty’ sauce) and we washed it down with a couple of cold beers. Delicious.

The drinks menu is extensive if craft beers, cocktails or shakes are your thing and the desert menu was full of waffles, doughnuts and other delicious American sounding items (although we were too full to try any). The staff are relaxed, happy and ready to help whenever they can and prices start from £7 for a burger and have a handy deal for £9 to include a side as well.

This is the perfect place for a quick refuel at lunchtime or to take a group of mates in the evening to sit back, relax, drink a beer or cocktail and really enjoy some fantastic food.
